WHAT IS A CSA?
A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a local bond between a food producer and the community. In use, the CSA crops are bought before the season by shareholders - people who are paying the farmer to grow the food. From the fees paid in advance, the farmer purchases seeds, fertilizer and other supplies. In return when the crops are ready to be marketed, the shareholders go to the farm weekly and pick up their fresh produce.

HOW DOES THE STONERIDGE FARM
CSA WORK?
Members stop by the farm on their preselected day, Wednesday morning, Friday afternoon, or Saturday to pick up their share. Crops will be harvested ahead of time. Certain items (peas, beans, strawberries) may be available on a pick your own basis for those wishing to increase the size of their share.
A single share is sized to provide 2-3 people with adequate farm goods for one week. Due to our short growing season, early and late season shares may be slightly smaller but we will make efforts to more than make up for that in the peak season. Typical shares will run in the range of 5-7 lbs and growing to the 10+ range in the mid-season.
Weekly shares will include fresh organic seasonal vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs. Additional farm items such, as your Halloween pumpkin and our own maple syrup will also be included. For those on vacation, feel free to give your share to a neighbor while you are gone.

RISKS:
Since you are paying in advance, you are assuming some of the risks of farming, just as we do. We want to make sure you are aware that we are an organic farm and therefore have a rather limited array of tools to control pests. Additionally we are at the mercy of the weather and other natural and manmade disasters. We have taken steps to reduce these risks with a greenhouse, irrigation system, fencing, and by planting disease resistant plants wherever possible.

BENEFITS:
These are the exciting parts. First you will know where your food is coming from and how it was grown. Most importantly you will receive great tasting fresh organic products each week all summer long.

MEMBERS COMMITMENT:
As a member of the Stoneridge CSA we ask for a couple simple commitments:
1)  That you pay in advance and accept the associated risks.
2)  That you commit to helping us on the farm two half days of your choice, sometime during the season.
Our commitment is that we will do our best to ensure that you have wholesome, great tasting fresh produce that exceeds your expectations each and every week.
